It is public and free to search. A device must be listed and marked compliant before anyone can sell it to you.
Go to the Live Device Register on ENA Connect Direct. Open Filters, set Type to Plug-in Solar, and read the Compliance Status column. You can also search by manufacturer or model if you have a specific kit in mind.
The host is connect-direct.energynetworks.org, with a hyphen. The unhyphenated version does not resolve, which is why a number of links to the register are broken.
Two things make it especially useful. It keeps non-compliant devices listed and marked as such, so it also shows what failed assessment, not only what passed. And each record carries separate compliance sections for Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
This is a real record, read on 13 September 2026. It is the only plug-in solar device we have verified ourselves so far.
The register describes a compliant device as one that "has been assessed by ENA's engineers and has been deemed acceptable for use by Distribution network operators".
This is not a recommendation, and it is not a complete list of compliant kit. It is what we have opened and read ourselves. Other sites publish counts we have not checked. Use the register yourself for any kit you are considering.
Not sure if a kit is on the register? Send us the model and we will look it up.
Paste the link or tell us the manufacturer and model. We will look it up on the register, read it against the specification, and tell you what we find, including when we cannot verify something. We do not sell kit and we take no commission from anyone who does.
